Airbnb Battles Santa Monica, San Francisco; New York Next?

Airbnb Inc. is suing coast to coast and from one end of California to the other as the short-term rental platform fights regulations restricting or banning its business model.

In a series of state and federal lawsuits, the platforms that state registration schemes impermissibly burden internet speech and threaten online speakers’ privacy in violation of the Communications Decency Act (CDA), Section 230. That section grants immunity to interactive computer service providers’ for acts of individuals using and posting comment on that service.
