UMBC Accused of Ignoring Male Swimmer’s Assaults of Diver (1)

University of Maryland, Baltimore County was hit with a Title IX suit by a female swimmer who alleges the school “demanded” she “conceal” her sexual, physical, and emotional abuse by a male swimmer, in a complaint filed Wednesday in federal court.

The plaintiff, identified as V.E., alleges she began a relationship with J.W., another freshman who was also on the swimming and diving team, which “quickly became violent,” according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of Maryland.
