Uber Defeats Wheelchair Users’ Suits Seeking Accessible Vehicles

Uber Technologies Inc. won a disability bias bench trial in a pair of lawsuits by electric-wheelchair users in two Southern cities, as a federal judge in California said the plaintiffs failed to show their request for wheelchair-accessible service was reasonable.

Jackson, Miss., resident Scott Crawford and New Orleans residents Stephan Namisnak and Francis Falls use motorized wheelchairs, which can’t be folded and placed in the trunk of a vehicle.
