Houston personal injury law firm Johnson Garcia LLP sued a former associate and his new firm for alleged trademark infringement over the use of Spanish-language marketing slogans.
The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, accuses Fred Steeves Hopson III and his firm Hopson Injury Attorneys PLLC of copying Johnson Garcia’s federally registered trademark “El Gringo y El Mexicano” by using the “confusingly similar” slogan “El Gringo Que Habla Español.”
