Ramaphosa’s Apartheid Crimes Commission Falls Short of Demands

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa is establishing a commission of inquiry into alleged political interference in the prosecution of crimes committed during the apartheid era, even as he fell short of implementing remedies sought by affected families.

The decision is a response to a lawsuit filed by people impacted by the murder, torture and abductions meted out by security forces.
