An Iowa school district’s policy to provide support to transgender students will remain in place for now because a lawsuit by a parents organization challenging the measure isn’t likely to succeed, a federal court said.
The parents have failed to allege an injury in fact necessary to establish standing, Judge C.J. Williams of the US District Court for the Northern District of Iowa said Tuesday, explaining his reasoning for denying their motion for a preliminary injunction to block the policy while the lawsuit proceeds.
