The jury in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is noteworthy for its diversity. About 13.5 percent of Hennepin County, Minnesota is African American and, of the 15 jurors (including the three alternates), nine are White, four are Black and two identify as mixed race, according to the court.
