Uber Eats, Postmates, and DoorDash agreed not to use race-based offers in Arizona, settling allegations of discrimination against non-Black owned restaurants, state Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced Wednesday.
The settlement agreements follow promotions launched last year after the protests that followed death of George Floyd while in Minneapolis police custody. Brnovich’s office argued that waiving delivery fees and providing other incentives for Black-owned restaurants violated the Arizona Civil Rights Act, though the settlements came before any formal findings.
