DOJ Exits Reform Bid Targeting Louisville Police Policy (1)

The Justice Department said Wednesday it no longer believes in the necessity for a proposed agreement with Louisville, Ky. to overhaul its police department after a civil rights investigation under the Biden administration.

The reversal comes on the heels of multiple police reform efforts that were pursued under former President Joe Biden’s administration. The US Department of Justice further announced the same day that it was dismissing its lawsuit targeting Minneapolis’ policing practice in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death in 2020.
