Democrats Narrow Down Candidates for EEOC Spot

Democrats are including the Office of Special Counsel’s Louis Lopez in their pool of candidates for an open seat on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Hispanic National Bar Association endorsement chairman Robert Raben told Bloomberg Law.

The HNBA endorsed Lopez, currently the associate special counsel for investigation and prosecution in the office, in a March 12 letter to Senate leaders Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Charles Schumer (D-NY).

“My sense is that they’re down to one or two” candidates, Raben said. The other candidates couldn’t be immediately confirmed.
