California to Pay Vaccine Providers Who Serve Poor Communities

California will start paying bonuses to health-care providers who inoculate more low-income and underserved individuals as part of a revamp of the state’s Covid-19 vaccination strategy, state officials said.

The pay-for-performance plan would rely on measures similar to those imposed on health plans to improve health standards, a California Department of Public Health spokesman confirmed. Plan details are still being worked out.
