Benched Virginia Tech Soccer Player Who Refused to Kneel Can Sue

Virginia Tech women’s soccer coach Charles “Chugger” Adair will have to defend at trial claims that he retaliated against a player for refusing to join the team in kneeling before a match in support of Black Lives Matter, the Western District of Virginia ruled.

Plaintiff Kiersten Hening alleges that Adair “berated” her during halftime of the match against the University of Virginia on Sept. 12, 2020, after she declined to take a knee and “denounced her” for being selfish and individualistic.
