White’s SEC Cybersecurity Adviser Keeps Job Under Clayton

A top aide to former SEC Chairman Mary Jo White will continue advising the agency on cybersecurity matters under Chairman Jay Clayton, the commission said July 18.

Christopher Hetner became the senior adviser for cybersecurity policy in the chairman’s office at the Securities and Exchange Commission last year. He is the only staffer from White’s office whom the SEC has announced is keeping his job.

White promoted Hetner from the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations, where he was the Technology Controls Program’s cybersecurity leader. He headed Ernst & Young’s wealth and asset management sector cybersecurity practice and was ...
