Wellington Management’s Jean Hynes to Succeed Swords as CEO (1)

Wellington Management, an investment firm with more than $1 trillion of assets, promoted company veteran Jean Hynes as chief executive officer.

She will succeed Brendan Swords when he retires on June 30, 2021, the Boston-based company, which counts Vanguard Group as a client, said Tuesday in a statement.

Hynes, one of Wellington’s three managing partners, joined the firm in 1991 after graduating from Wellesley College and currently runs the Vanguard Health Care Fund, with almost $50 billion of assets.
