Verizon Gets Investors’ Lead Cable Suit Tossed With Finality

Verizon Communications Inc. investors again failed to adequately plead securities fraud claims over company statements about allegedly toxic lead-encased cables, a federal court ruled.

New material in the latest version of the investors’ complaint largely echoes older allegations previously rejected as insufficient to state a claim, Judge Edward S. Kiel said May 29 for the US District Court for the District of New Jersey. The investors won’t get another chance to replead, he said.
