U.S. Chamber Lobbies on SEC Proxy Voting, Whistleblower Rules

The biggest business group in Washington has deployed lobbyists to work on proxy voting and whistleblower issues amid growing interest at the SEC in changing how it regulates the matters.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce in the last few months advocated on a Securities and Exchange Commission plan to restrict large whistleblower bounties and on 2014 agency guidance for investment advisers using firms that suggest how to vote proxies for shareholders, according to an Oct. 22 federal lobbying report.
