UBS Must Pay Ex-Worker’s $1.6 Million in Lawyer Fees (Corrected)

UBS Securities LLC and parent firm UBS AG must pay more than $1.7 million to cover a fired whistleblower’s attorneys’ fees and court costs, a federal judge in New York said Wednesday.

A jury awarded former strategist Trevor Murray more than $900,000 in back pay and compensatory damages after he accused UBS of firing him for protected whistleblowing activities. Murray requested fees for more billed hours, but the judge reduced the amount after reviewing billing records, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said.
