Theranos Founder Holmes’s Fraud Trial Postponed Due to Pregnancy

The trial of Theranos Inc. founder Elizabeth Holmes was delayed for six weeks because she’s pregnant and due to give birth to her child in July, court records show.

  • Holmes was charged in June 2018 with defrauding investors following the collapse of her blood-testing startup
  • Trial had been set to begin July 13
  • U.S. District Judge Edward J. Davila on Wednesday agreed to postpone the trial to Aug. 31
  • The government had previously agreed to the delay
