Televisa Can’t Block Investor Suit Alleging It Hid FIFA Bribes

Grupo Televisa SAB investors notched an early win in their suit accusing the media giant of hiding its role in a FIFA bribery scheme.

Televisa has long held lucrative Latin America broadcasting rights to soccer’s biggest tournaments. The company’s investors sufficiently alleged that it misled them about the bribes it paid the Federation Internationale de Football Association for World Cup media rights, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said March 25, refusing to dismiss the case.
