Tax Attorneys Part of Stock Manipulation Scheme, Feds Say (1)

A pair of international tax lawyers are among those the SEC and DOJ have accused of securities fraud, including stock price manipulation and illegal sales.

Milan Patel and Matthew Ledvina, along with Daniel Lacher, helped carry out Morrie Tobin’s stock scheme, according to Securities and Exchange Commission and Justice Department complaints filed Nov. 27.

Patel and Ledvina practiced international tax law at Anaford PLLC at the time of the alleged fraud. Patel was a managing partner in the firm’s Miami office and head of its U.S. tax group, according to his LinkedIn page. Ledvina is currently listed as partner ...
