Sequential Brands $9.8 Million Investor Settlement Has Court Nod

A Sequential Brands Group Inc. investor’s $9.75 million settlement over the bankrupted fashion company’s accounting garnered final court approval, including 25% of the sum in attorney’s fees.

The settlement created a fund of over $9.8 million in cash already on deposit, Judge J. Paul Oetken said in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Monday. Lead counsel will also get expenses of almost $39,000 paid as well as interest, he said in an order. Lead plaintiff CJD Property Finance Company LLC will get a $3,000 award.
