Senior SEC Lawyer Jumps to Dechert

Dechert LLP has landed a 18-year SEC veteran who helped oversee the commission’s cases against investment advisers before he left the agency in early November.

Anthony Kelly, the former co-chief of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Enforcement Division Asset Management Unit, is now a partner in Dechert’s white collar and securities litigation practice in Washington, the law firm said Nov. 12. He had worked at the SEC since 2000.

The unit, which he led with Dabney O’Riordan since 2016, brought enforcement actions involving conflicts of interest, fees, disclosure, and other issues concerning the asset management industry. The ...
