Semtech Investors Get Class Status in Copper Cable Product Suit

A Semtech Corp. investor convinced a federal judge to certify a class alleging the semiconductor company overhyped its active copper cable technology’s market opportunity.

The class includes those who acquired Semtech common stock from Nov. 25, 2024, to Feb. 7, 2025, Judge Mark C. Scarsi said Wednesday. During that time, Semtech overstated potential sales for its CopperEdge products after reports Nvidia Corp. wasn’t developing a certain rack-scale configuration for computing processes that might’ve used it, according to the suit in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
