The Securities and Exchange Commission announced July 14 that longtime Enforcement Division Chief Counsel Joan McKown is leaving the commission to become a partner in the Washington office of the law firm Jones Day.
In a release, the SEC noted that McKown joined the agency in 1986 as a staff attorney in the Office of the General Counsel. She moved to the Enforcement Division the following year, where she served in several positions, including branch chief and assistant director, before being named chief counsel in 1993.
Before joining the SEC, McKown was an attorney at the U.S. Small Business Administration. ...
