SEC’s Jackson Pushes for Corporate Political Spending Reporting

Congress should allow the SEC to adopt rules that would bring transparency to companies’ spending on politics, agency Commissioner Robert Jackson told lawmakers.

Lawmakers have blocked the Securities and Exchange Commission from finalizing corporate political spending disclosure regulations through bills that fund the agency, most recently in the fiscal 2019 appropriations legislation that ended the government shutdown earlier this year.
