SEC’s Climate Disclosure Regulation Won’t Get Finalized in 2022

The US Securities and Exchange Commission won’t vote this year on its controversial plan to require companies to disclose information about their carbon emissions, according to an agency official.

The SEC is still poring over thousands of comments that it’s received on the proposal, said the person, who asked not to be named discussing internal deliberations. The agency isn’t close to deciding what will be included in a final version of the plan, the person said.
