SEC Names Paula Drake to Key Role As OCIE Chief Counsel, Compliance Officer

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced July 9 that Paula Drake has been named chief counsel and chief compliance and ethics officer of the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations.

In that role, the SEC said, Drake will oversee eight attorneys and coordinate the responsibilities of attorney-advisers in the agency’s regional offices.

Drake, who is slated to start Aug. 6, most recently served as general counsel and chief operating officer at Oechsle International Advisors LLC. She also served for eight years as a member of the board of governors of the Investment Adviser Association.
