An unnamed “company outsider” is getting an SEC whistleblower award of more than $1.8 million, becoming the 100th individual to secure the agency’s bounty under a Dodd-Frank Act program, the agency said.
The person disclosed “significant” information about ongoing securities violations to the Securities and Exchange Commission, according to an order awarding the money Monday. The SEC was able to bring a successful enforcement action based on the tip, the order said.
