SEC Eyes New Exchange Governance Plan for Market Data Delivery

Stock exchanges would have to come up with a new plan for how they handle the distribution of stock quotes and transaction information under an order the SEC plans to propose.

The Securities and Exchange Commission will consider whether to release the proposed order for public comment Jan. 8 as part of an effort to revamp the governance structure behind market data circulation, according to a Dec. 31 open meeting notice.
