SEC Considering Corporate Disclosures on Diversity, Gensler Says

The SEC is looking at diversity reporting requirements as part of a corporate workforce disclosure proposal it’s crafting, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler said.

The Securities and Exchange Commission’s proposal has the potential to include new disclosures about the diversity of a company’s senior management, among other reporting obligations, Gensler said at a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing Wednesday.

The SEC chairman also indicated an interest in getting information about employee turnover and pay levels, saying the value of a company is “often very entwined” with workforce data like that.
