PNC, Verizon Say Wasson to Leave Boards After His SEC Settlement

PNC Financial Services Group Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. said Gregory D. Wasson is resigning from their boards after he agreed to pay a fine to resolve a regulator’s claims he misled investors.

Wasson, the former chief executive officer of Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc., agreed Sept. 28 to pay $160,000 to settle claims by the Securities and Exchange Commission that the company’s senior leadership failed to adequately disclose risks regarding its ability to reach earnings goals.
