‘Pharma Bro’ Shkreli’s Ex-Lawyer Reaches Deal to End SEC Case

“Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli’s former lawyer, Evan Greebel, will be barred from serving as a public company officer or director under a proposed settlement the SEC filed in federal court in New York.

Greebel’s deal with the Securities and Exchange Commission calls for a permanent injunction prohibiting him from violating certain federal securities laws but no civil fine, according to documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. The agency is skipping the monetary penalty because of Greebel’s conviction in a parallel criminal case, it said.
