Nuveen Launches Net-Zero Carbon ETF as ESG Funds Face Scrutiny

Nuveen’s latest exchange-traded fund lets investors track the worldwide shift to net-zero carbon emissions.

The actively managed Nuveen Global Net Zero Transition ETF (ticker NTZG), introduced Friday, will invest in companies that have committed to lower emissions as well as developers of “disruptive technology” that mitigates climate harms.

“We will seek to decarbonize the portfolio at a rate faster than that of the market to achieve net zero carbon ahead of the Paris Agreement 2050 deadline,” Jordan Farris, Nuveen’s head of ETF product, said in a statement.
