More Corporate Reporting on Workers Urged by Ex-SEC Members (1)

Former SEC commissioners are urging the agency to require companies to publicly disclose how they classify and pay their employees.

The Securities and Exchange Commission should require statistics on full-time, part-time and contingent workers, as well as details on their salaries and other compensation, former SEC Commissioners Robert Jackson and Joseph Grundfest and others said in a petition posted on the agency’s website Thursday.

Jackson and Grundfest, now law professors, submitted the petition with several academics, including John Coates, a former SEC general counsel and acting director of the agency’s Division of Corporation Finance. They’re part of the Working Group ...
