An ex-Stericycle Inc. financial analyst and his interior-designer mother will repay insider trading profits to settle an SEC complaint, the agency said.
Matthew Brunstrum and Susan Brunstrum agreed to disgorgement “equal to each of their ill-gotten gains plus prejudgment interest” as part of a Securities and Exchange Commission settlement, according to a July 24 agency release.
Matthew Brunstrum tipped his mother, who owns an interior design firm, about Stericycle’s pending announcement of a bad quarter in 2016, the SEC said in a U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois complaint.
