Mattel Inc. investors told a California federal district court they weren’t going to file an amended complaint or pursue an appeal after a judge dismissed their suit accusing the toymaker of misleading them about sales.
The would-be investor class said Mattel didn’t tell them about slowing demand for Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels toy cars. But the challenged earnings call didn’t “contain any false or misleading statements regarding the expected performance of the Barbie and Hot Wheels brands in 2019,” Judge Consuelo B. Marshall of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said.
