Financial services concern Life Partners Holdings Inc. and senior LPH executives Brian Pardo and R. Scott Peden were ordered Dec. 2 by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas to pay almost $47 million in disgorgement and civil penalties over their roles in a fraudulent disclosure and accounting scheme involving life settlements (SEC v.
