Judge Tosses Union Challenge to Trump’s ‘Fork-in-the-Road’ Offer

A federal judge in Massachusetts dismissed a union challenge to the Trump administration’s deferred resignation offer for government workers.

Judge George O’Toole, Jr. of the US District Court of the District of Massachusetts ruledthe American Federation of Government Employees lacks standing.

The union must first adjudicate its claims through the Federal Labor Relations Authority and Merit Systems Protection Board, he said. The Trump administration has presented a similar legal argument in a number of cases involving federal workers’ departures.
