Interactive Brokers to Pay $1 Million to CFTC on Excess Fees (1)

Interactive Brokers will pay about $1 million to resolve a US derivatives regulators’ claims that the firm overcharged customers for exchange fees.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission said that from 2015 through 2021 Interactive Brokers failed to ensure its employees passed on to customers the most up-to-date fees for executing transactions. That led customers who made certain spread trades on platform run by CME Group Inc. being charged the wrong rate, the CFTC said.
