Intel Beats Investor Suit Over Missing Moore’s Law Chip Target

Intel Corp. investors can’t proceed with claims that the semiconductor company misled them about its progress toward achieving a smaller microchip amid a focus on Moore’s Law, an industry assumption about the pace of innovation.

The investors failed to line up adequate allegations of securities fraud for some 30 challenged statements by Intel and three executives, two of whom resigned after news emerged about delays and a related issue, Judge Edward A. Davila said March 31 for the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
