The Securities and Exchange Commission and Justice Department have recently brought or settled insider trading complaints involving eBay’s ex-director of SEC reporting, a former Equifax manager who traded after learning of the company had been hacked, and an ex-Morgan Stanley insider who was part of a tipping ring. In settling, defendants neither admitted nor denied wrongdoing.
