Immigrant Investors Lose Bid to Take McAuliffe to High Court

Chinese investors won’t get a chance to revive their suit accusing former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe of misleading them about an electric car startup after the U.S. Supreme Court Dec. 9 denied their petition for review.

Fifteen investors urged the high court to give them another opportunity to prove McAuliffe and Anthony Rodham defrauded them. The investors said they relied on the duo’s allegedly misleading statements about GreenTech Automotive’s sales figures, dependence on immigrant investors, and the number of jobs the startup created.
