House Backs SEC Budget With Extra Cash for Enforcement

House legislation giving the SEC more money than it sought for enforcement, examinations, and other programs in fiscal 2020 is off to the Senate for consideration.

The Democratic-controlled House on June 26 endorsed the funding hike as part of a measure that would provide the Securities and Exchange Commission with about $1.9 billion, approximately $200 million more than it sought for fiscal 2020 and got in fiscal 2019. The vote was 224-196.
