Grant Thornton’s private equity-backed US arm plans to acquire the firm’s Australian affiliate in a bid to extend the network’s increasingly global reach.
The board of Grant Thornton Australia has endorsed the proposed deal but its shareholder partners must still ratify the plan with a vote expected in May. If approved, the transaction could close later this year, the two affiliates said late Monday.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
