GMO-Z.com Trust Co.'s $6.75 million settlement earned a federal judge’s final approval to resolve allegations by purchasers of its purportedly yen-pegged stablecoin.
Counsel for the settlement class will get a third of that sum—$2.25 million—in attorneys’ fees and more than $86,000 for litigation expenses, plus interest, Magistrate Judge Stewart D. Aaron said in blessing the deal Wednesday. The settlement class covers those who acquired GYEN in New York or California at the times when the GYEN was unpegged from the Japanese yen and lost money from Dec. 29, 2020, to Oct. 10, 2025.
