Frontier Free of Securities Suit Over Wireline Integration

Frontier Communications Corp. won’t have to face a shareholder suit accusing it of misleading investors about a 2016 wireline purchase, a federal judge said March 8.

The telecommunications firm’s investors didn’t sufficiently allege Frontier had hid information from them, according to a U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut order dismissing the suit.

Frontier acquired some wireline operations—network connections that aren’t wireless—from Verizon Communications Inc. in 2016. The company planned to integrate the new systems all at once, although other firms often pursued more gradual switches.
