When Elon Musk took the stage on Saturday Night Live in May 2021, he grinned through sketches, dropped innuendos and pumped an internet joke into financial history by name-checking Dogecoin live on national television. The coin soared before his appearance — then crashed.

Equal parts farce and lockdown-era delirium, it was easy to dismiss the episode as the peak of the meme-market bubble. But the era didn’t end. It’s been normalized, and now Dogecoin is about to go full Wall Street.
