Former Exec Avoids Jail Time on Insider Charges

Former American Superconductor Corp.(AMSC) Assistant Treasurer Joseph M. Tocci was sentenced Jan. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts to one year probation on charges he traded his company’s securities based on inside information regarding the concern’s problems with its largest customer (United States v. Tocci).

Tocci pleaded guilty in August, at which time he also resolved a Securities and Exchange Commission civil enforcement action based on related alleged misconduct 45 SRLR 1521, 8/19/13, 156 Securities Law Daily, 8/13/13.
