Former ICAP Plc broker Bruce Reid has reached a settlement with a lawyer who claimed for years that he was suing the firm for wrongful termination but never actually did.
Reid hired Michael Mui of New York’s Sack & Sack after he was fired in 2014 from a job on ICAP’s medium-term swaps desk that he said paid him more than $2 million a year. In disciplinary proceedings last year, Mui admitted that he lied to Reid repeatedly that he was making progress with his case, even though he never filed the complaint.
