FINANCE BRIEF: Comer Demands SEC Turn Over ESG, Europe Documents

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer is threatening to subpoena the SEC for any documents about US involvement in crafting EU environmental, social, and governance regulations GOP lawmakers say harm American businesses.

Comer (R-Ky.) told SEC Chair Gary Gensler in a letter Thursday he’s concerned the agency is trying to “stonewall” the panel’s investigation into whether the US cooperated with the EU on its climate directives, Billy House reports.
